TINX is a bad ass with some bomb tunes - INTERVIEW!
It’s no surprise that England’s music scene is known for producing stars, but this up and coming musician knows just how to make you dance. With her newest remix alongside GIRLI and Tylr Rydr, TINX’s “Wait & See” is suddenly everywhere. “Wait & See” is a multi-harmony rhythmic tune with powerfully seductive lyrics such as “you better work it” and “I’ll make it worth it.” In other words, they’re untouchable but everyone wants them. Ditto.
If you don’t know TINX yet, guess you’ll just have to Wait & See *winks*
INTERVIEW BELOW
Wait & See is a powerful female anthem, what inspired your creation of this song?
Thank you. I’m glad you got that from listening to it as when I originally wrote the song it’s what I needed to hear. I was super fed up with guys always assuming they could speak to me like I was a piece of meat, or making a pass at me without much respect.
You collaborated with GIRLI on the new remix of Wait & See, we love her! What was your experience like working with her?
It was so fun working with GIRLI, she’s really talented - I’ve been a fan of hers for a while. The original version featured on my EP ‘Six One Zero’ and to mark its anniversary I wanted to do something special so I asked if she’d jump on it for a remix. At the time that she wrote her verse she had experienced something similar to the topic of the song so it just worked out well. Timing is everything!
Moving from Sweden to England is a big change, what led to this decision?
I grew up in the countryside in Sweden where not much was happening. I had family in the UK, so my mum suggested I come over for school and see if I liked it. It was a big adjustment as I was so young but a year has turned into now calling London my second home.
Many young girls want to make it in the music industry too, what advice would you give them?
If you love it you will make it, so do it because it’s your passion and just keep going at it.
If you could change anything about the music industry, what would
I would like to see more female producers and engineers! I’ve worked with many men over the years. I know there are a lot of great female songwriters that are visible but it’ll be amazing for us to completely take over.
For people who haven't heard your music, in three words how would you describe your musical style?
Dark electro pop
Who are you inspired by?
Demi Lovato, Tove Lo… and I’m inspired a lot by poetry, I love Rupi Kaur, she captures reality in such a beautiful way.
Is there an artist you'd like to collaborate with in the future?
There’s so many people I would like to collab with but Lady Gaga for sure, she’s a queen, and the musical genius that is Pharrell Williams - that would be insane!
And finally, What can we expect from you in 2020?
More music but also... shows!! Can’t wait to finally perform. Get ready
